We recap Benfica's last game of the League Cup group stage against Gil Vicente at the Restelo. With a spot in the semis already booked, JJ decided to give the less used players minutes once again, and while the game served as a note taking session for JJ, some players made the best of of the opportunity.

Next up, we look at Benfica's list of fixtures for the month of February. 8 games, yes 8 games, in the shortest month of the year, with crucial games against Sporting, porto, and Paok for the Europa League. Time to test the depth of the squad and the confidence JJ has in the fringe players,

Lastly, we discuss the recent story by A Bola which reported super agent Jorge Mendes bought the rights to Andre Gomes for 15 million euros. There hasn't been an official confirmation nor an official denial by Benfica, and We can only speculate about the deal. For Benfica it seems like a good piece of business, especially if we need to balance the books. Mendes will now have complete control of Gomes' future, and with a few days still left on the transfer window, Gomes' future at Benfica is uncertain.
