Nice topic :drunk:

Well, I think the group is ok for us, normally we can get good results against english teams, and AEK ins´t strong anymore. BATE can be a surprise if we underestimate them. However, I´m counting with the first place. Athen´s game should be the biggest test, due to their terrific fans, I guess.

I think it's a difficult group, really. I do think Benfica can go through, but i'd like to see this team play more under jesus before giving a stronger opinion. I believe any of those four teams could win the group. I hope it's Benfica tho ; )

Really looking forward to Benfica x everton.. most of my friends are Evertonians..I will have great fun if we win

How´s the atmosphere at Goodison Park? I don´t expect it to be like Anfield, of course, but can it be quite intimidating?

I'll try and be honest!! I have been to goodison a few times, and sat in the home and away parts. For normal league games it's nothing special (but then, being honest, neither is Anfield..). When it's the derby the atmosphere is very intense and you can really see it affecting the players.

Anfield has a reputation from the big european nights but Everton haven't really had as many opportunities in Europe recently to make such a reputation...  I'm pretty sure it will be sold out against Benfica, with you being a club with a big reputation, so it will be a good atmosphere I'm sure. Until you beat them 8-1  (what a game tonight)!

Here are some photos of Goodison park to help you get used to it:

I know the intention was good, but I find that unpleasant to the Evertonians who may visit this board.

Anyway, I expect two great games against Everton. About AEK and BATE Borisov, there's always the risk of underestimating them, especially the belarusian side.

Concerning the terrific fans of AEK, I disagree. That shouldn't be a problem. They are certainly amazing but we won't face the same kind of atmosphere that we faced last year with Olympiakos. AEK plays their home games in the Olympic Stadium, which isn't quite the same thing as playing in the smaller Georgios Karaiskakis.

Thanks for the infos Senhor_Beef :2funny: Park End sure seems very comfortable, but by the looks of it, let me guess, the last game was against Millwall?

4ever Red Evil, no doubt about that, the stadium where we will be playing is quite different, in a good way for us, but the Greeks are always very enthusiastic.

Greetings Benfica fans from an Everton fan.
1stly about those 'pictures' of Goodison. I know our ground is not as brand-spanking new as yours, but come on do us a little bit of justice. It must have been quite some time ago that senhor-beef visited because the away fans section is no longer in the Park End, but along the Bullens rd Stand - Paddock, Lower & Upper Bullens. You'll have a good view if you're in the paddock, but posts do obscure the view in the Lower and upper bullens. The match at goodison is likely to be a near-sell out probably around 35,000. The atmosphere should be good, especially if you lot make your voices heard.
About the game @ Benfica, do you think it will be a sell out? Everton have sold their allocation of 3250 tickets and there could be around another 1-2,000 travelling without tickets because Everton fans see this as the game to visit and I am one of those. This will be my 4 visit to Lisbon and 2nd visit this year. I think Lisbon is a wonderful place and the Portugese people are in general very friendly.
I was wondering what Benfica fans think about having visiting supporters in the home section? I do not get to many Everton games because I dont live in the UK so its not easy to tickets through Everton and Me and my wife have ordered tickets through the Benfica site for the tnm section. I guess we should be ok?
