Man Utd flop Bebe set for Benfica

Bebe is set to finally end his time at Manchester United according to Sky Sports, with the player himself confirming that he is leaving the club to join Benfica this summer.

The Portuguese attacker was plucked from relative obscurity by Sir Alex Ferguson four years ago for a fee of £7 million, with Bebe bizarrely claimed to have been preferred to James Rodriguez at the time, with the Colombian having completed his move to Real Madrid now after winning the Golden Boot at the World Cup.

Bebe however has failed to make a single Premier League appearance for United after undergoing a series of loan spells away from the club, with last season’s stint with Pacos de Ferreira attracting interest once again back in his homeland.

United are keen to offload some of the deadwood in their squad in order to clear room for new acquisitions as they look to restore glory days to the club following a disappointing season and Benfica have jumped to the front of the queue to claim Bebe’s signature.

The Portuguese giants won the SuperLiga at a canter last season, but have seen the likes of Lazar Markovic leave for Liverpool already this summer, but now look set to sign Bebe as they prepare to defend their title.
