Citação de: AlexGR em 21 de Outubro de 2024, 22:35Tzimas 18 years old, together with Konstantelias the two best youngest prospects (both belong to PAOK). He is on loan to Nürnberg (2. Bundesliga) with buy option of 18M (which is impossible for Nürnberg to pay)
Nürnberg coach is Miroslav Klose, so he is in good hands to improve a lot at least as striker.

He scores every 69', 4 goals 1 assist in 6 games (275')

Double goals this weekend in the local derby. Watch Nr. 9

So Tzimas I was telling you about in October. He continued to improve: 10 goals (0 penalties) 2 assists in 18 games. He just turned 19 last month.

Many teams kept scouting, many made offers, at one point he was close to Liverpool, Dortmund was sending scouts every game, Fiorentina made offers, Aston Villa offered 30M for immediate move.

He signed with Brighton (Premier League) because they offered him 2 things he demanded :
1) To finish the season with Nürnberg, because he believes he can benfit the maximum from Klose as mentor (Fiorentina's and Aston Villa's offer was for immediate transfer)
2) 1st team football next year (Liverpool couldn't guarnatee this, as they also have J.Danns in same age and position)

and he also likes the young coach Hürzeler (who promoted St.Pauli to Bundesliga)

Brighton paid :
18.5 M to PAOK (buyout clause)
3.5 M to Nürnberg for the transfer
and : 2.78 M ( +1 M solidarity fee) = 3.78 M to remove the future transfer bonus of 15% to PAOK
----
25.78M Euro

Some interesting stats:

Tha biggest 21 and under talents remaining in Greece are the two golden boys of Olympiacos : Mouzakitis (17) Central Midfield , Kostoulas (18) Striker, Konstantelias of Paok (21) . Koulierakis (21) went to Wolfsburg in Summer and he is in the starting 11.

A bit older : Tzolakis (22) Olympiacos, Mandas (23) Lazio both goalkeepers. Vagiannidis (23) Panathinaikos Right Back, Ioannidis (25) you already know when he was linked to Sporting.

Sport media in Greece report that the Lizzards are interested in Vagiannidis :

He is a good RB with big potential. He can play the whole wing and occasionally score and assist, this is the heat map from this season :

Last season they rejected offers from Botafogo (6M), Ajax (7M) and Zenit (9-10M). So if Sporting is really interested they will have to bid in the 10M +- region

Karetsas (17, Genk) one of the biggest U19 Midfield talents, decided to join the Greek NT and not the Belgian one (he played up to Belgium U21).

Slowly one of the most promising Greek national teams is created !

Mandas, Larentzakis, Vagiannidis, Tsimikas, Koulierakis, Mavropanos, Chatzidiakos: Mouzakitis, Zafeiris, Konstantelias, Karetsas, Tzolis, Kostoulas, Mouzakitis, Pelkas, Pavlidis, Tzimas, Ioannidis....

with very low average age.

AlexGR

A nice Karetsas video (he is 15-16 in these highlights)

He was 15 when he played in Belgian first League (and scored 3 goals in the first 7 matches):

Karetsas scored his first goal with the Greek NT at 17 :

0-2 against Scotland in halftime

Just goes to show, without creas Rota, Bakasetas, Mandalos, Siopis - the team has fast transitions, pure attack and goals. Let's see how the EPO fight to keep the old players in the starting 11..  Any coach in the world would now make the 11 tonight, the starting starting 11.. but Greece is Greece.. money talks..

I agree with most parts. Siopis has his use in physical games with lots of running, as he is everywhere but he has 0 creativity and passing :D
But DM is a position he lack more than others.

Masouras days are also over I think as the alternatives are much much better.

We also have Tzimas who plays great and got transfer to Brighton (I watch him every week at Nürnberg).

Bakasetas , Rota and Mantalos we can lock in a closet and throw away the key
