In Lisbon there are two major (actually there are only one major) teams: Benfica and sporting

If "Benfica of Belgrade" is Crvena Zvezda
"sporting of Belgrade" is... you will get that :P

What i'm asking is... why all matches are there?
Isn't Marakana much bigger stadium? As far as i know it can take around 20.000 more people.
Isn't that important to provide a best atmosphere for the national team?

Good simbolism Eddie, didn't get it. :clap1:

Partizan stadium has a capacity of 31.000 seats, Maracana has the capacity of 55.000 seats, we park cars on the black&white stadium when we have a game. :whistle2:

Whole football assotiation of Serbia is filled with Partizan man, the chairman Karadzic was the president of Partizan before becoming the chairman of FSS.

The national team always played on Maracana, until this qualification cycle.

The "reason" is that the lights on Maracana aren't strong enough for European mathes, so UEFA is sending us new reflectors. They have been "sending" them for six months now. :whistle2:

Told you, the people in Serbia have very little emotional connection with national team because it is ruined.

On the other hand, the basketball national team is the pride of the nation.

Don't get me wrong, Serbians are very, very patriotic and we all love the players, Its just that the national association with its corrupted people managed to break the link between the fans and the team.

MiguelPalma92

Your Basketball national team is very good, I like to watch them play  :)

Eddie_

Дућа, i know serbs are very patriotic ofc. Its normal due to political events and wars that happened in that globe region...

I was just wondering why games were not in Marakana. Now i see why!
I guess you will be "receiving" the reflectors for some more months  :whistle2:

And yeah, i also know your basketball national team is doing great, i tried to follow last World Cup. Great performance!

Btw, we will catch "sporting of belgrade" in volleyball in next european round. Hope we can win!

We have a special song for the FSS chairman Karadzic.

Last season he gave an order that whenever we have a transparent or sing a song against him the referee stops the match ( :2funny:) until the transparent is removed..

This is that song^. Notice on the begining when the whistles are heard in the background (from east and west stand) in that moment referee suspends the match until further notice.

But that only made us louder. Welcome to hell.

Eddie_

No sound here. Will play later at home. But i love the flag show!

There are those rules in Serbia?
Impressive  :bah2:

Shouldn't be allowed have those rules and ofc that will only make you louder against him.

Scandal happenned tonight.

Galatasaray - Crvena Zvezda, Euroleague. Around 400 Zvezda fans went to Istanbul with paid tickets.

Hosts promised to let them in, instead didn't let them into the hall.

Turkish pigs attacked our fans, and cowardly as they are stabbed to death a 25 year old lad.

Tragedy. Shock. Anger. Rest in peace brother.

Faliro

I am sorry to hear this.

The Turks will probably escape any punishment as there is a massive block of EU politicians who are working everyday to clean the image of Turkey for eventual EU entry.. If this has happened in Greece or Serbia, the world's media would be reporting this.

Turkey wont' join the EU anytime soon.

And speaking of getting away with shit... Armenian Genocide.

Faliro

True, but the ultra liberals in the EU work very hard to support turkey and cover for them at any instance. Blair and now Cameron believe ''strongly'' turkey should be let into the EU.

I will be be very interested to see what action is taken. I expect very little.

Please, don't turn this into political topic.

Galatasaray coach Ataman after the game said that Zvezda fans are terrorist...

This morning he told that "he was not aware of the young Serbian death" and that he is sorry.

Turkish pigs.

Serbian prime minister talked to Turkish prime ministar and said that Ataman is "persona non grata" in Serbia from now on.

Our club, our consul in Turkey told them 2 days before the match to declare it "high risk match" and that our fans have police protection. Nothing happenned..

They were alone and the Galatasaray fan attacked them and stabbed Marko.

Rest in peace brother, you will be forever in our hearts.

И на небу том на које идем ја сија моја Звезда Црвена...

Today on match in Kragujevac, we kept silent, only shouting the name of our fallen brother and singing "Dobro znaj"...

It goes something like this (its hard to translate on english) :

Know well that I am always here
know well that I won't ever
to leave you, to forget you
know well that i am always here

Zvezdo, know, that I love you crazy
I can't go a single day without you
I am ready to give you my heart
that beats crazy for you

One day when everything passes
when years arrive
know that it will never come the day
day when i won't be with you

And that night when i die
and drink last beer for you
and on that sky where I am going
shines my Red Star

In other news..

Greek side PAOK have refused to participate in a minute of silence in today's domestic game against Olympiacos in memory of the killed Red Star fan in Istanbul on Friday.

Ahead of the game between Olympiacos and PAOK, the Reds requested to ESAKE that the clubs pay their respects before the game, but the request was denied. They also threatened to leave the court if they had to take part.

The club claimed that the request for the minute silence was announced 15 minutes before the scheduled tip-off time and that they could not decide so quickly.
