Really excited about this one.  It's a stadium I'v4e always wanted to see a game in and now it'll be Hearts, fingers crossed!

I'm unbelievably jealous of those of you getting to go to this btw. Couple of days in the sun in a beautiful country & what I can only assume is an incredible city before seeing the Jambos play a massive game against a world famous team in a belter of a stadium.

Got the tickets this morning.... now can not wait for a few superbock in the sun and then seeing Hearts playing a proper European giant.....

TBH the only reason a lot will go is to say that they have been in that great stadium. Surely not for the absolute dooin we will get .

able to see our team take on the mighty Benfica is a bit of a dream. I'm sure we'll all be crashing back down to earth on Thursday night though.

I'm dreading it to be honest, great to be playing at a fantastic stadium but we could be royally humiliated unless things change VERY quickly.

Hearts fans should know where we are in world football.  It makes any kind of result against these huge clubs all the better.

Far too early in our journey to be truly competitive against them, but having a team like Benfica at Tynie is what you live for.

Look, to be fair, we're going out. But this is the sort of European tie we should want. A genuinely massive, historic team. 

Well this is what we dream of, right?

This is one of those European ties to just enjoy.

We are hosting Benfica, one of the biggest names in European football.

Outstanding.

Normal, não têm estado grande coisa. O Benfica tem obrigação de passar sem grandes dificuldades.

O normal não devia ser por não estarem grande coisa, o normal devia ser por irem jogar contra o Benfica e o Benfica é um grande.
O local dos grandes não é aqui.

Claro que qualquer clube que jogue com o Benfica em eliminatórias destas vai pensar o mesmo porque não é suposto o Benfica estar aqui, é uma aberração pontual

Acontece pontualmente com grandes clubes, esperemos que seja raro para nós. A única coisa positiva e a nossa obrigação é tentar vencer esta competição, o troféu da Liga Europa/Taça UEFA é lindo e já nos escapou por três vezes. Recordo aquela que era na altura a terceira competição, onde até apareciam clubes dos escalões secundários, a Taça das Taças... Foi nessa competição que vi um dos jogos mais épicos do Benfica, em Leverkusen. Mas lá está, vibrávamos com um jogo contra o Ginásio de Alcobaça ou contra o Recreio de Águeda... fosse contra quem fosse o importante era que jogava o Benfica. Hoje desprezamos algumas competições e alguns adversários... Não deixa de ser irónico, quando a exigência neste clube anda pelas ruas da amargura. Tiques de novos ricos, do clube aos adeptos.

Eu não desvalorizo nenhuma competição, mas é evidente que neste novo formato das provas o Benfica tem de estar na Champions.
E caindo na Liga Europa não é com um plantel destes que a vai ganhar.

Não era uma crítica ao teu post. Referia-me ao estado do clube e aos seus adeptos em geral. Isto não se passa só no Benfica. Independente do estado moribundo do clube, hoje vivemos outras realidades, outro tipo de exigência, somos também o espelho das novas sociedades, para o bem e para o mal.
Não foi uma crítica para ti, repara fui buscar um jogo da Taça das Taças para mostrar isso mesmo, vivi aquela competição e o jogo em particular, com enorme paixão,, coisa que dificilmente irá acontecer nesta nova era numa Liga Europa... Eu próprio sinto isso, como a maioria de nós.

Wouter Vrancken, treinador belga do Hearts, adversário do Benfica na terceira pré-eliminatória da Liga Europa, deixou elogios à equipa de Marco Silva, após a derrota com o Aberdeen, por 2-1, na primeira jornada da Liga escocesa, que marcou a terceira derrota em três jogos do conjunto do português Cláudio Braga em 2026/27.

"Não queremos jogar só por jogar. Vamos tentar ser competitivos frente a uma equipa realmente boa. Tem um estilo de jogo totalmente diferente do Sturm Graz. São todos jogadores de alto nível europeu, que têm muita qualidade com bola. É uma equipa muito boa", disse o técnico de 47 anos.

Em declarações aos jornalistas, Vrancken revelou que Steven Kingsley e Malachi Fagan-Walcott não estarão disponíveis para o jogo de quinta-feira, às 20h00, no Estádio da Luz. "O Kingsley vai estar de fora algumas semanas, isso é certo. Quanto ao Fagan-Walcott, preciso de consultar o departamento médico antes de falar sobre isso", afirmou.

Walcott, central inglês de 24 anos, chegou este verão à equipa escocesa, vindo do York City. Kingsley, lateral-esquerdo escocês de 32 anos, está no Hearts desde 2020. Ambos foram utilizados com o Sturm Graz.

Entretanto, MJ Kamson-Kamara, central inglês de 20 anos, substituiu Fagan-Walcott na lista de convocados do Hearts para a Liga Europa.

off-topic e por isso peço desculpa mas não encontro nenhum topico para o primeiro jogo da liga para o proximo FDS, e já não vejo o topico da pré-epoca, por isso só queria dizer que os gajos deviam ter a decencia de pôr o jogo na luz á porta fechada em sinal aberto ao menos.

Pelo que li nesse forum os men's estão cagados de medo do Benfica 😂
Vê-se mesmo que estão a leste da nossa triste atual realidade.
Para eles o Benfica é como um PSG ou um Bayern , a maioria deles ficaria contente se perdessem por menos de 5-0 😂😂

Apenas constatei um facto , se não tens capacidade para interpretar o que eu disse abstém-te de responder, simples.
Não sou como a maioria dos acéfalos aqui neste forum que até a derrota do Benfica desejam só para fazer cair a direção, esses sim é que destratam o bom nome do glorioso.
