Benfica have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid forward Jose Antonio Reyes on a permanent basis for £7.5million.

The former Sevilla, Arsenal and Real Madrid attacker joined Benfica on a season-long loan deal in the summer.

Reyes struggled to make an impact at Atletico last campaign and has now penned a four-year contract with Portuguese Liga side Benfica after impressing manager Quique Flores.

Reyes' agent, Mariano Aguilar, said: "The player is very happy to have signed.

"He feels at home in Lisbon, that's why he wants to continue. They have treated him wonderfully since day one."
