Olympiacos Piraeus

Faliro

He has talent. No doubt. Just have to look at his two goals in Europe. The point is how best to use him and to stick with him even if he does not score in a game. At Oly we only gave him one full game after that amazing performance. When he didn't score he was dropped.

I'm sure that Milojevic will be patient with him...Yes, he played great against Partizan, but missed a few chances against Rijeka...other than that, I like how he moves on the pitch, even when he does not score.

Just watched the first half, looked at boring as hell. We had the 2-0 first leg result and it seems Platanias were not that interested in attacking. Interesting this new Greek Albanian player from the youth team Marios Vrousai. Looks very strong for his age and quick feet.

Faliro, is it true that Marinakos is looking for sn easy way out of Oly..that he is spending more and more time in London, looking to buy a new club there? That Oly has taken a back seat? It is a bit strange to see that Oly board has better relations with Partizan than Zvezda...gave them Jankovic and probably Zdjelar, bought Fejsa and Djurdjevic from them, now maybe Tawamba too.

Well he is already out of Olympiacos in name. Resigned as president a few weeks ago - but he is probably still pulling the strings. There are no rumours of him being after another club besides the two he is already swamped with.

I have no idea why Partisan have good relations with us lately. Our main negotiator and scout for that region is our former striker Darko Kovačević. Maybe they are giving good deals? I am not sure on this one.

This season it wont be so easy for Olympiacos, AEK and PAOK have been consistent over the season.
I'd put my money on PAOK.

I have no idea, Kovacevic is our ex player too. But it is disconcerting to many, I mean those who expect those special links to be materislised in something more than gate 7- Delije brotherhood.

On top of that, our newpapers published the details of Ben deal..we had to pay 500.000 euros with a clause that if we were 5 days late with the first installment, we would have to pay 625.000 euros. I do not know if it is true...Add to that the fact that Oly beat us last year in basketball when it did not matter to them and it meant final 8 for us, many common supporters are left with some doubts. Of course,  the club is privatised and there is little fans can do to influence decisions. They can provide moral support, what they do always. There were some banners Kosovo is Serbia when Hasi was appointed as a coach.

Olympiakos should Lose on purpose in last year Euroleague?

We lost 64-66 in extra time, in a match that meant nothing to Oly and everything to us. So some fans expected Oly to slow down a bit and not play is if their life had depended on it. There is a subtle difference between slowing down and losing on purpose. It is not uncommon for players to play with some 50-60% of their strength when the match is not important to them. Because we lost, we had to defeat Darufasaka in Istanbul, which is impossible, because Turkish Airlines are the main sponsor of the EL, so the referees destroyed us and pushed Darufasaka into the Final 8. Although, in my mind, it does not make Oly any less of a brother club.

When Olympiakos still had a great team:

Σαν σήμερα, το 2006 ο Θρύλος νικάει 3—2 τον Παναθηναϊκό στο φλεγόμενο Καραϊσκάκης με σκόρερ τους Ριβάλντο 37', 58', Κωνσταντίνου 73'!

On this day in 2006, Thrylos beat Panathinaikos 3-2 in a burning Karaiskakis with goals from Rivaldo (37', 58')  and Konstantinou (73')!

Exactly. For as much as we would want to have an influence over our clubs' decisions, it is not the case. They care about fans as they do about the last year's snow, especially if they are privatised, only trying to avoid direct confrontation like Marinakis does. Even Benfica, Luis Vieira could appoint his wife as a coach, fans would protest, but they would not be able to change anything. Here in Serbia, fans are a bit more violent, but the way to crush their opposition is usually to bribe the leaders.

At Olympiacos the owners each have a short leash before they get into trouble. Kokkalis milked his success but the minute he thought he knew more than the fans he was booed in the stadium by the fans. He quit and sold the club a week later to Marinakis. Marinakis flew close to the wind sacking Michel and employing weirdos like Hasi and Victor Sanchez. However Marinakis is no longer the president. I am pretty sure he probably still pulls the strings but until the trial is concluded he does not have the title of president.

Spoiler
Faliro, I see that you have entered negotiations with FYROM over their new name.
Too bad that we do not have a diplomacy...we could have let them know that we would not object to them taking the name " Southern Serbia", " Old Serbia" or even "Dusan's Empire"  :2funny:
[fechar]

Ah then, Marinakis did not push your buttons strong enough with that Hasi appointment..
