@Faliro I have been following Oly growing investment in the volleyball team. Alberto Giuliani by what has been reported is managing to negotiate internationally renowned athletes for Greece.

Can you explain what is the objective in european competitions for next season? Without the russian clubs in the competition, do they want to pass the group stage? I know that in 2002 your club was european vice-champion.

Hello my friend. I had to ask my friend about this one because I don't follow Volleyball. I have however noticed a lot of press about Olympiacos volleyball the last few weeks.

My friend said, the mistakes in this season make the board more passionate to rebuild the team with high quality players. Juliani is going to rebuild the team with his choice of players. The board is willing to purchase the players Juliani wants.

Team needs a clear out in the summer. If I was in charge, Lala, Oleg, Sokratis, Vroussai, Avraam, Onyekuru, Carvalho, Ba and Lopes would all be binned.

Great potencial... but I don't know if Porto has "permanently damaged" him.

He had a lot of potencial, but Porto treated him badly. He was left in the B team for no reason when he was better than the players who were playing in the A. Psychologically I don't know how he will be...

So this is funny. Marinakis is now president of the Super League for the next two years!

He won the election. Those who voted for him:

Aris Thessaloniki
Olympiacos
Asteras Tripoli
Atromitos
Ionikos
Levadiakos
OFI Crete
Panetolikos
PAS Giannina.

Those who abstained:
Panathinaikos
PAOK Thessaloniki
AEK Athens
Volos FC,
Hellenic Football Association (EPO)  :2funny:
Lamia

His statement:

''New stadiums are being built, there are prospects at all levels to make a plan of at least five years, with more revenue for everyone , with healthy teams, with healthy and real share bases, with the fans filling the stands. With modern stadiums, safe and functional training centers and Academies that will be able to develop the talent that the Greek children have."

Random question. Was Barkas actually good for AEK or as bad as he was for Celtic and only played well against them?

I like Giakoumakis for Celtic. Isn't the most skilled player but a good target man who gives his all. Reminds me a lot of Jan Venegoor of Hesselink

Heya mate.

Yea Barkas was useless at AEK as well. They are a terribly managed club with many useless players. Sadly, that team is a conveyor belt to the Greek national team, thus explaining why Greece hasn't qualified for a major tournament since the World Cup in 2014. The owner - nicknamed Tiger - is worth around 4 billion, but he is exceptionally tight. The last few years they have been spending most their money building their new stadium which will be ready for next season. The keeper that impressed more than Barkas in the season AEK won the league (2017-2018) was Anestis.

Giakoumakis imo is talented and comes from a family of footballers. He was feeding off scraps at AEK as they have terrible creative players. Also I think the pressure got to him. I was amazed continental clubs weren't clawing at him after the season he had but Celtic were very wise to pick him up. There is always risk bringing Greek players to the UK as they can be hit and miss. The leagues in the UK are very physical. I think he is a player that would do well in most leagues, physical, awkward to mark and doesn't miss sitters. If the Greek NT had more creative players he would have more goals there as well.
