Under UEFA`s decision, Zenit`s Champions League roster has been reduced from the standard 25 players to 22 players, and Zenit has furthermore been fined for 12 million euros.

— This decision was expected by us, — said Maxim Mitrofanov, Zenit`s General Director. — The club and UEFA have reached an out-of-court settlement whereby we commit ourselves to fulfilling several requirements governing the financial activities of the club for the upcoming period. The measures announced by UEFA are part of this agreement. The conclusion of this agreement will not affect the club`s activities on the whole. In fact, we just needed one more year to basically avoid financial fair play penalties. The club is cooperating with UEFA representatives and is acting within the framework of the financial strategy developed by the club and necessary for gradual adaptation to UEFA requirements.

A central purpose of the settlement is to ensure that Zenit becomes break-even
compliant within the meaning of the CLFFPR in a short space of time.

In this regard, Zenit undertakes to report a maximum break-even deficit of EUR
30 Mio. for the financial year ending in 2015 and no break-even deficit for the
financial year ending in 2016.
Zenit accepts that employee benefit expenses cannot be increased during the next
two financial reporting periods (2015 & 2016).
