Olympiacos Piraeus

I guess he already spoke Spanish? It's rather similar. Nevertheless, it's impressive.

HJDK

I assumed that because he said "dictar" but was kinda uncertain about it, unless you have that word in greek he must know it from spanish.

Yea, that word is not in Greek.

I mean his Spanish seemed extremely basic. Just enough to talk very basically with Abidal etc on a youtube video I found. The fact that he understands most of what is being said is impressive. I find Portuguese from Portugal particularly difficult due to the accent. Samaris seems happy to use quite a thick Portuguese accent it seems.

HJDK

So, you prefer the Brazilian accent? Don't say that here.. :police:

Yeah, if he was swearing(and there was a moment that he felt like it ;D) he would be a pretty regular portuguese, blends really nice.

And by the way, I feel really sad when native speakers don't recognize this! If I was around him I would brag him a lot..

Whenever I'm with an american and they think I'm one of them due to the fact that I lack accent :smokin:

Yea, I do prefer the Brazilian accent I must admit, but not the Rio accent so much, I prefer the MG accent!  :tomates:

As for Samaris, he will be starting for the Greek NT against the Faroes in the centre for the quals on Saturday. He has to play well, he has been poor for the NT since the WC.

Faliro, it works like this:

Portuguese from Portugal -> Serious, sober, classy

Brazilian Portuguese - > Happy, lively, joyful

Spanish -> Drunk, loud, retarded

That's how it works. :smokin:

Is his portuguese better than yours?

Faliro

Miles better.

I would not easily be able to speak to anyone from Portugal. In Brazil, (where my in-laws are) they speak with virtually no accent - so I can get away with a lot. Sometimes I get the wrong word because I simply take a guess. I remember for around a week i was saying govermente (I assumed that was the correct word..) instead of governo... ;D

Indeed.

Let me repay Faliro's kidness towards our Spanish stereotypes by saying that όταν ένας Τούρκος μιλάει, τα μωρά κλαίνε.

Samaris is from Viseu with that accent. :rir:
