Brutal 45 minutes. Not much quality either team.

Really dislike the way JJ builds his team.

Shitty 45min by Benfica. Lost a lot of balls in the beginning (poor decision making), Sporting managed to impose, and even create some danger, so players have lost confidence, and become fearful. Very also because of the starting eleven and the state of the coach on the bench...  :disgust:

Let's see if there will be substitutions.

I think Sporting deserved their goal. They were more ambitious for most the game.
However Benfica recovered very well for the goal at the death. The Sporting fans must be devastated!  :2funny:

JJ builds a very flat and rigid team. Little invention, very static. Quite unpleasant to watch.

Not in every game, but this seems to be our new approach to the big games away from home. Nothing against it,since he used to be criticised for playing too open in these occasions.

We could've done better offensively but we missed Nico Gaitan, who is our best and most creative player

Sporting deserved to win. Were superior. Benfica seemed a small team. Ridiculous. Was the same in Dragão. People were happy and said that Benfica played well. Now, everyone is criticizing. What changed?

JJ defensively is TOP. Offensively he has quality (positional) but it's all very rushed, without patience. And then, he is fearful against Porto and now Sporting too. Changes the team, and plays for the error. Horrible. Today was horrible.

Thing i don't understand is how Benfica lineup when they have the ball.
When you had the ball today, I would assume, you would push players forward. However what I saw was half the team still in defensive positions when you were attacking. The CBs sitting far too deep and Samaris and the other DM covering them just in case??

They deserved to win fuck all. Playing at home, needing to win yes or yes, against a team without 2 of the most important players and didn´t create anything.

For us is a good result, given the circumstances

This is not at all how Jesus builds our team Faliro. Quite the opposite.
I dislike the guy but even I can recognize that in this 6 years he were more than once one of the most attractive sides in world football.

What happened?
Benfica fears Porto.
Benfica went to Porto this year playing this horrible football with everyone at the back and we somehow got away with a 0-2 win.
So Jesus thought he would do the same today.

I completely disagree. We could go to Sporting and come back with a win, we are much better than them. But well, this could've went way worse than it did.
This is the best kind of draw we could get with the moral boost it gives.

They deserved to win because they were superior, and they were the only team that really wanted the 3 points.

Were superior? Having more of the ball doesn't mean superiority. We completely nullified them and only conceded due to our own mistake.

Was a good result because we were playing one of the thoughest away fixtures in the league, without two of our best players, with other important players in bad form (like Salvio) and scored a goal in the last minute

They were superior because they created 1 goal opportunity, and Benfica 0. They had more ball, more shots, attacks. What do u want more?

Drawing against a inferior team, can't be a good result. The absences of Nico and Julio César don't justify a draw is a good result. If Benfica had gone there to impose his game, with the usual 11 (Ola John-Nico; Artur-JC), the probability of victory would increase dramatically. But the coach chose to go there and play like a small team, as he did on Dragão. That's what pisses me off, the way Benfica played, not really the result, I don't give a fuck about that (yeah really).

They created two goalscoring chances and scored 1,exactly like us. More ball, more shots, exactly the same chances and goals. They wanted to attack,we wanted to defend and so seems clear to me who was the team that executed the best its own game plan.

Two matches away from home against title rivals,4 points. That's a good score. We played like we had to,given all the problems we've had this season.Had we played like this is the Champions League and we still would be in Europe
