I remember Juventus being interested in Luisão back in 2006.

Could not be a real offseason without some rumors about Luisão leaving for somewhere else. The outcome is always the same anyway.

Faliro

Rumours are you after Samaris, the player I suggested you should be looking at last season.

pcssousa

Seems like you want 6 to 8 million euros. I don't believe we are able to pay that kind of money.
And to be honest, we can buy a better player for 8 M.

I dunno if you could find better for the price if it is €6 million. I mean if he was holding a Portuguese, Croatian, Italian or Brazilian passport he would be around €10 million considering his ability. The only reason he is so cheap is because he is Greek. Even a Serbian or Turkish passport would make him more valuable.

I kinda want him to stay. Greece rarely produces box to box midfielders with his build, technique and speed.

ZICKLER

faliro, how would you describe this player? It is a 6, a 8?

Best central midfielder Greece has imo. Clever midfielder who encourages a fast passing and attacking game. Tackles well, has a bit of a temper (doesn't like opposing players kicking him when he has the ball, who does?), good passer, scores goals, presses well, looks for the final pass and fast.

I would describe him as a luxury player to an extent, in that he works well playing next to an aggressive, deeper - hard tackling midfielder - because Samaris has a habit of getting forward for attacks.

I would say a solid 8/10 with lots of potential. I remove two points because every now and again, he goes to sleep misplaces a pass. This usually happens once a game and deep in his own half. I know it is not often, but I get annoyed because it is meaningless laziness, he is a clever player and should concentrate every second. The more he plays the better he becomes. He owes everything to Michel who showed massive faith in him. Here is his goal in the world cup this summer that he also set up. It kinda describes the kind of player he is:

I think he can play both as a 8 or as a 6 and he's a very solid player.

Right now, I guess we can't afford him.

Faliro

I have never heard this number 6 or number 8, can you explain what they mean?

pcssousa

A 6 position is Fejsa. A 8 is Enzo Perez.

Faliro

Interesting, we really don't use these anymore in the UK, other than, the number 10/playmaker number 1 keeper.. - number 2 fullback etc..

I was looking here to find the difference between 6 and 8.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squad_number_(association_football)

I would say Samaris is what we call a box to box midfielder. I am not sure if you have that expression in Portuguese?

pcssousa

Yes, we use the english expression, box to box.

A 6 is more defensive player than an 8 is.
