Jota has arrived in Glasgow. Probably hungover and fathered 30 kids on his world travels...but arrive nonetheless

Definitely wouldn't say everyone stands out in the Scottish league. Nuno capucho, Bruno Alves were rotten in Scotland. A lot is to do with team system or how they adjust.

Very few Celtic players who our fans rate or love go on to fail elsewhere. We know a player.

Cult hero is a different story but they don't go for big moves.

Personally speaking not now. Bur Jonas, Cardozo or Bernardo (different reason) are among them.

Boa sorte rapaz.

Sejam corretos a comentar....

Concordo.

I think any fertile woman gets pregnant just by looking at Jota. And if they stare at him, they're likely to have twins.

Edit: since i started watching football, my favorite ones are João Vieira Pinto, Simão Sabrosa, Aimar and Jonas.

They would be legends though.

A cult hero is a player that isn't necessarily good but a lot of fans love them. For example, at Celtic right now we have a backup RB called Anthony Ralston. Fans call him 'the brickie'. He's a pretty limited player but would run through brick walls for the club/gives his all every game and is just a player happy to be there and doesn't make a ton of money. Seems to score important goals randomly.

Jerzy Dudek is probably one at Liverpool for the 2005 Champions League penalty shoot out.

I'm not sure if cult hero is a British term or not.

We don't have a direct translation of such a phrase.

If a guy kinda sucks, we may call him ironically a "legend". If a guy gives it all in the pitch, we say he's "raçudo" or a guy with lots of heart.

Nowadays, that cult legend you mention would be Gilberto, probably. Cervi, which left 2 or 3 years ago to Celta Vigo, was also that kind of players. Players with big hearts, but not such good feet.

Currently we have Gilberto, some limitations but he gives all and then some on the field.
Thought 'cult hero' meant something completely diferent   ;D, refering to the aces of Benfica.

Love it!

We probably have about a million adjectives for crap players.

Probably my two favourite terms in football are 'cart horse' to describe a physical target forward. They don't have much ability other than being battering rams and are found a lot in the English championship.

'Show pony' or 'sand dancer'- a player who is skillful, does a lot of tricks but doesn't have a lot of end product. The English will class a lot of continental players as that. Ronaldo got called it in his early days at Man Utd.
