I remember back in 2006...we signed Ailton who was German footballer of the year two years back. He was also 33. For us, it was as if Ronaldo had come. At the end... I do not want to burst your bubble...But this is a maneouvre your president is using to win more support. Even if you get him... Cavani will not solve your problems. And Benfica fans should not be like Turkish fans... Do not be dazzled by "big names"

Ailton flopped at Besiktas and Hamburg before signing for Zvezda.

Cavani is one the best strikers in the current game.

No offense, but hardly a fair comparison.

The comparison is as fair as a comparison between Serbian league in 2006, and Portuguese league in 2020.

Anyway, he only really flopped at Beskitas because at Hamburg he was out for most of the season since he broke his jaw.  Sadly, Cavani too has been plagued by injuries lately. He also played only 14 league games in 2019/20 (mostly coming off the bench, 602 minutes, 4 goals) and three CL games. Hardly one of the best strikers in the game right now? We have to admit he is on the downward spiral.

I hope for you he will shine. But do not expect much from a 33-year old player well past his prime. And do not let his name dazzle you.

He arrived with 34/33 years. They won in the first year, lost in the 2nd.

Não sei se ia adiantar de alguma coisa, mas pelo menos passava a imagem de que ele iria ser um ídolo se cá estivesse.

O Cavani era um aquisição fantástica mas faz mais falta um jogador como o Waldschmidt.

O problema é que ainda temos 1 PL, já o famoso 9,5 do JJ não temos nenhum.

After a year losing all games to an interventioned rival, after another year with the name of the club in the mud by the newspapers, another year with money moving (failed OPA, signing players that don't even play a game -Cadiz...), another year with symbol of the club being changed (which goes against the rules of the club), with rumours of deals that should lead to the current president being banned from rhe club....
