On the record, Benfica's record and why we must win the next game.

If you're like Porto you'll stop at 28 against a shitty opponent.

Beat Xania 1-4 in the cup just now. Kolovos, Hernani, Seba and Maniatis with the goals. We have some tasty youth players..

Any chance of loaning us Marco Silva for next season?

We won't let you go empty handed, we will give you two coaches (Helder and Rui Vitória) and you can even pick two players from a selected few (Talisca, Eliseu, Silvio and Vitor Andrade).

Eυτυχισμένο το νέο έτος Γοττσχάλκ!  :drunk:

Feliz ano novo para todos voces!!  :drunk:
I know it`s been a while, but better late than never ...happy new year!

Tell me something. Today I was thinking about Leonardo Jardim and the way he left your club, since he seems a possible candidate to coach OPorto at the end of the season.

Do you know the real reason, that led to his exit from Olympiakos?

At the time, there was a rumour in Portugal, that remains and I do not know if you`re aware of it. Rumor is he was fired because of an affair with the president`s wife.

Does this ring any bell or do you find a logical reason to fire a manager midseason when the team is at top of the league?

To my knowledge the affair with the president's wife angle was an invention by someone outside of Greece. I actually believe it is a corruption of a real scandal that did actually happen that was a very sad affair indeed. That of Antzas, the very good CB and the unhealthy rumour that the son of Kokkalis (then president) had an affair with his wife. One day Antzas just up and left Olympiacos in his prime citing depression due to family problems (father just died) and not being able to cope with the urban jungle of Athens and bad atmosphere in the locker room. He walked away from football and went to live with his family in Drama. He was 27 years old, starting CB for Greece and Olympiacos at the time and imo a very good player. He was dropped from Greece and eventually signed for his local team Doxa Dramas. The rumours were that his wife had an affair and he could not cope. Something clearly was very wrong.

Jardim left because the fans were booing him every game for ultra conservative tactics, 2 defensive midfielders and only one striker to play on the break against village teams etc.

wow. Talk about new age. No longer players take care of business with the  board of directors wives. Now it`s the the other way around.

John Terry must be freaking out with the possibility of karma. One thing is teammates, since you can control it to an extend. Now imagine playing a game or training and thinking where the hell is your wife and what is she doing with some relative of the owner or board member? mind-blowing.

Yeah. Jardim is a very good manager but he clearly has an old school italian catenaccio philosophy, which is rare in Portuguese coaches. I understand Olympiakos fans reasoning. Since winning titles is mandatory, you demand sexy and attacking football so mutch more.

yea and we have over 30 mil more to spend than the other teams, so being top of the league is meaningless. The fans want to see goals. Not playing on the break at home against Ergotelis.

The Antzas debacle was very serious and it still gives me a sad feeling. He was a strong player and fairly easy going and likable fellow. Very professional. The rumours were that the Kokkalis's playboy son slept with Antzas' wife and he felt he could not stay in the club anymore and felt betrayed. He just up and left. For breaking the contract in such a matter he could have received massive fines but tellingly Olympiacos took no action and later agreed to the loan to Doxa dramas to help him out.

If Jardim had slept with Marinakis' wife everyone would know about it, plays and films would have serialized it. Greeks are incapable of keeping secrets.

Is the rumour that Marco has been contacted by Oporto true?

Faliro

Marco Silva gave a statement this week the Porto media seem to be ignoring.. he states he has had no contact from anyone at Porto and is fully committed to olympiacos:

In other news if we beat Levadiakos tomorrow we break the record and move to 17 games of straight wins. In a very interesting move, Marco decided to leave our top goal scorer Fortounis out the squad to rest.

1-0 so far. Attack attack attack. Great to watch.
