What system does he like to play? I have an administrator friend at Olympiacos that wants a mini-report on his strengths and weaknesses, can anyone do a summary?

Weaknesses: Confrontational style and very stubborn. Lacks quality of football. Very defensive.

Average manager at best. Got decent to good results while at Sporting, but that was by far the best he did.
Conflictive leadership, usually the type of "are you with me or against me" that costed his place at long term.

As Portugal manager the team usually played decent to good football, but lacked mental strength in the final moments of the game.

He's not that bad as Cloughie says, but not that good either. There are better solutions in the portuguese market such as Villas Boas or Manuel José (ex Al Ahly), and in the foreign market as Hiddink and Pellegrini.

André Martins is decent.

Still a bit inconsequential, his growth had an abrupt stop about two seasons ago and he played very little since then but the talent is there. People shit on him but his career hasn't been fair to him recently.

Has everything to be a top talent in the greek league imo.

Paulo Bento is a hardliner. A true general.

Great coach, in my opinion. Very underrated. He did an amazing job at Sporting Lisbon and a very good job in the Portuguese national side. Now in Brazil things didn't go as well for him but it's supremely hard for a foreign coach to succeed there.

I think he will fare well in Piraeus and bring stability to the team. Goid results will follow. I wish him all the best. He's a great human being. He has a great character that players respect. He's very humble but stern and hard-working.

Paulo Bento in a nutshell.

I would say that is tenure with Sporting Lisbon was pretty good, he won a couple of cups/super cups,
finished second a couple of times, for a club of that size it was a tremendous job, but for a club like
Olympiacos that's not enough, their board should like elsewhere for a coach, they should stay away
from english/brazilian managers.

Thanks for all the replies. Sometimes my club can be a  bit Greek - and some people associated with the club were asking me some questions. It was all a bit last minute. I managed to make sure Ouzounidis was rejected but Bento came out of no-where and honestly I did not know much about him.
