That grand theft Soccer one is awesome Bakero...you can have so much fun at there expense, i just hope Quaresma wants out and makes his way to Anfield  ;)

Have you found a new manager yet btw?

Yeah, Quaresma would be a great addittion to Liverpool, because you really need good wingers. Although, i must say that Quaresma is very inconsistent. He's the type of player that makes one brilliant game, 3 awful, every 4 games...

But i suppose he would improve a lot in England (like Nani did, believe me, he was shit here in Portugal...).

Yeah, we have a new manager. It's Quique Flores, Valencia manager for the past 3 years. Doesn't have exactly a great CV, but he's young and the first impression was good, so i'm hoping he'll be the "special one" we've been waiting for to lift this sleeping giant... :)

And about Liverpool, what are the rumours? I heard you bought Degen, but i think you need more players for the wings. You have a great spine with Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Gerrard, Mascherano, Fernando Torres, but you lack some quality at left back, right back and wingers, don't you think?

I would be happy with Quaresma joining us as you said we do need left and right sided players, we've got Dossena from Udinese and Degen as you mentioned but fans wont be happy if we dont get one big name player, id put Quaresma in that bracket. Personally i am desperate for Alonso to stay, but with big rumours about him going to Juventus looks unlikely at the moment!

What you said about nani made me smile, i dont think he's that special, put him in a smaller team and he wouldnt get noticed much.

Oh yes Flores i thought he was unlucky at Valencia. Maybe if he spends any money he is given wisely he can succeed in waking the giant as you put it, i think you need to stand by him though, give him more than one season...unless he get you relegated of course. Whos been mentioned with joining your team, will Flores have much too spend?

I think he'll have some money to spend (speccially if we go to the Champions League), but it's not very easy to convince big players to come and play in the portuguese league... :P

Until now, we didn't bought any big player, and about rumours it's not worth speaking, because believing in our press, our squad we'll have 100 players  ;D (i wonder if with Liverpool it's the same)

About Quique having time...well, he won't have. It's a mistake, but we do it over and over again...

You just have to look at the facts: since Eriksson managed us from 1989 to 1992, not a single manager lasted 2 consecutive seasons in Benfica!

But i hope this time we'll give him some time to build the team, or even better: he makes us champions right away and we'll be begging for him to stay  :D

Ps: The other day i found, on torrents, an ITV show about rivalries in europe, and this one: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1405444 it's about the Liverpool-Man Utd and the Benfica-Sporting rivalry.
Although i must say, it could be much better, it's nice to see an english show trying to understand our rivalry with those bastards across the street  :knuppel2:  ;D

Cant believe i started this topic at the start of last season, seems like only a few days agao. I wanted to once again wish you good luck for the upcoming season, i see you had a good game to kick the season off with against the scum of FC Porto, a respectable draw against the cheating twats was a ok start, you agree? Was hoping we would draw Sporting in the CL then i could come to Lisbon but will have to make do with Marseille, Madrid and Eindhoven.
I havent heard much about any new signing you have, who's been the in's and out's during the transfer window? Glorioso SLB & LFC

We bought some well known players... Aimar, Reyes, Suazo... And other good players like Carlos Martins, Yebda, Sidnei... We have a nice squad this year ;) We have Pako Ayestaran as well :D

Petit and Nelson left the club, Rodriguez ( :knuppel2: ) signed for Porto and Rui Costa ir our director of football this year.

Congratulations, GloriosoLFC for the great win today!

When i realized, i was jumping up and down when Babel scored! To be honest, i felt kind of bad, becaused it felt a bit like i was cheating on Benfica eheh, but anyway, great comeback!

And now the question that i think all Liverpool fans must be thinking "Is this the start of Liverpool run to the Championship?"

I really, really, hope so!  :drunk:

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed our win today...we've waited a few years to beat them cunts, and we definately deserved it.

dont worry about celebrating our goal, you now deep down Benfica is your true love nothing wrong with hoping others have good sucess too, i always hope Benfica win (except against us obviously) i just wish we could get portugeese football in the uk more!

Dont talk about the title yet, way way way too early, but of course i hope!!!

What do you think the chances of Benfica in the Uefa cup, i quite fancy you to do well...

Yeah, i was joking. Beside the club of the heart, i think everybody has other clubs they admire. For me is Real Madrid, Flamengo, Roma and Liverpool (this one at the top)  :)

About our chances in the UEFA Cup, we'll have a difficult first round against Napoli  :-X. We allways have difficulties against italian teams (well, who doesn't?), but with the likes of Reyes, Di Maria and Suazo, i'm hoping we can pass them...

Ps: A suggestion: you can follow Benfica life more closely at this good blog written in english: http://www.benficaupfront.blogspot.com/

Cheers  :drunk:

I think almost any Liverpool fan that had to choose a "Favourite Portuguese team" would choose Benfica. I think we have a lot of respect since 2006, plus we are two clubs with a similar great history and tradition... and then the obvious one...we both play in red!

Good luck for your derby this weekend, I will be watching it for sure, and hopefully we win ours!!
