CBs are all garbage without exception and are easy to score on.

Cant think of anything else really.

Jimmy Durmaz is shit at everything.
Kostas Fortounis is overrated,,

Besides that the team functions well. Marinakis hinted in the interview today there will be no transfers.
In ZeroZero, Olympiacos signed this guy today http://www.zerozero.pt/jogador.php?id=125811. He's new or he's in the club since the start of the season?

And there is rumors of Balotell for loan...

What's happen with Salino?

VP is one of the best portuguese coaches. At the end of the season you will be in love with him.

Salino was openly critical of Michel as he lost his place this season to Omar Elabdellaoui and could not understand why. He will probably try and ingratiate himself with Vitor through his Brazilian charm,,  :blah:

Salino is not a bad player - never amazing, but fairly steady.

Interesting find. I read most the red press and they seemed to have missed this one. I have never heard of him and apparently he has already played two games for Olympiakos?? Not sure how or for which team, he is not listed in the youth squad either. You know anything about this guy?

I heard from some Greek press that the Balotelli deal was off.

The inquest in Greece continues about which transfers were Michels 'fault.' Clearly no one knows shit and is just inventing shit as no one knows if Michel even green lighted any transfers or indeed if he did deny the Robinho and Cardoso (not your famous cardoso, horacio cardoso) transfers.

Personally I believe the Affelay incident caused problems. Affelay cost a couple of million to bring on loan. Michel over christmas stated he has the mind of a child and is immature. Affelay was then removed from the team by Michel. Affelay seemed shocked as did his agent. Olympiakos acted the peace maker and told Michel to make up with him it seems. So Affelay was included in the next squad but not played and in the next game Michel dropped him again from the squad angering karembeu probably and maybe marinakis. Either way, it is not like Affelay was playing like luis suarez. He was playing more like Talisca when Talisca was bad and doing nothing right.. and even in those games where Talisca was bad - he saw more of the ball than Affelay.

If Olympiakos had no manager, there is still a good chance we would win the league. Our players are so much more superior to our rivals, the most ridiculous thing is, Michel's talent was for European games... Anyways.. I am still emotional about this thing as I was a big fan of Michel..

Michel actually liked Greece, actually liked the club and was actually shocked at being sacked, but said not one word in bitterness. Marinakis killed the Goose that laid the golden eggs. and he looked embarassed at the press conference today saying, Michel is gone, he is gone.. we have Vitor Pereira today. That is it..'

Michel's final words:

He said «Soccer rarely notifies you early enough when you come and when you leave. I am leaving for my home, but a part of me will stay here. I was very happy here and I'll take great memories with me.

"I leave impressed by the size of this club, the wonderful city of Athens, and from this country that embraced me and made me feel part of it. Also, I will never forget those nights at the Karaiskaki stadium and the unbelievable passion of the fans; my legs still shake when I think about their songs."

"After leaving the training ground for the last time and saying goodbye to my players and employees of the club who for the last two years made me feel at home, I was unable to hold back some tears; I will miss you,» the 51-year-old Spaniard said in an open letter published on the Olympiakos website.

Anyways.. Vitor seems an interesting man. He certainly does not strike me as a stupid man. In fact from this video he seems a very hard worker and quite clever. Also social. First training session:

If you watch the video, Vitor laughs with him and has positive reinforcement touching his shoulder. Vitor has probably realised getting the best out Roberto is key for the success of Olympiakos.

Roberto and Dominguez both wrote highly personal goodbyes to Michel.

Roberto Facebook:

//It's a sad day. And I can just say Thanks. Not just to the coach who changed my career and made me be among the best ones, also to the person who has helped me in the bad times and has achieved my confidence with hard work and effort.
Because all of that, Michel, today I tell you Thanks and I wish you the best in the future challenges.
It has been a pleasure and for sure our roads will meet again.
From now, we will fight as a team and assume our responsibility, just to make Olympiacos even bigger!!

Michel will give an interview tomorrow with Nova sports that will shown at 20:30. He will discuss his 23 months at Olympiacos. Tomorrow night he will have a dinner with friends and colleagues and on Saturday he leaves Greece to return home to Spain.

Super coach, super human.

Greeks always kill the goose that makes the golden eggs.

Probably he will buy someone here. Faliro, what you consider to be your weak positions? Or the ones that need second choices.

There is talk about Carlos Zambrano coming in.

I guarantee you. Vitor Pereira is better than Michel. Olympiacos did the right thing. There were some problems in the group as well, so again, the board did the right thing, and they couldn't choose a better coach. You'll see.

I saw the apresentation. He said what I expected. I now will follow Olympiacos, very curious about what he does in Piraeus.

About that player.. I know nothing about him.

Festivus

VP's sides didn't really play exciting football, though. Expect good defensive consistency and some clean sheets, but not flashy football. Will Olympiakos hardcore fans settle for that?

MrJohnny

He won't tolerate "kid reaction" from the players.

sbremoved_28408

I never rated Michel very highly as a coach, but the truth is he's done a very good job at Olympiakos.

Very curious about Vitor Pereira. He's got great knowledge but he´s not very charismatic, and I still think that could be a problem in a big club. Anyway, expect Olympiakos to be very solid defensively,to have a lot of the ball but not very dynamic in the final third

VP likes quality football, dominant, with control, not exciting like you see in the Premier League, with attack from one team and then attack from the other, always like that, with no control.

So, if the players manage to absorb the ideas, if they have quality, if they believe in the coach, Olympiacos will be extremely competent at all moments of the game. And with creative players on the front, you'll create a lot of opportunities per game in Greek League, and in Europe, you'll manage to compete with teams with superior budgets.

No, they will boo. The Gavri always boo defensive football against 99% of the Greek teams.. unless the team is all out attack in the league, the fans turn on the manager and players.

Zardim built a solid a team, but it did not save him. At PAOK or PAO, he would have lasted years. Olympiakos rightly or wrongly have very big expectations. It all started when Olympiakos started bringing in the Brazilians in the late 90s.

AEK fans also don't like defensive football and will even throw objects at their own players and coach..

Faliro, VP wants offensive football, he said in the presentation. He's not like Jardim. You seeing Guardiola's teams? Always in the field of the adversary? It's what you'll see. Possession, strong reaction to the loss, dynamic, now, you have to have creative players. And Porto lacked of that. There was Lucho and James only. And James was almost all season injured. So Porto had difficulties creating opportunities. That's why it's said that Porto of VP was not exciting, because of the lack of opportunities and goals.

I have no knowledge of him other than he is football mad and has studied Barcelona. He seems a hard worker and we have some great players for him to use. I will take it as it comes.. I wish him luck. I am heartbroken for Michel as he has been treated like shit, but.. what can I do... ? Lets see.

VP has come in and will have the hardest game this weekend. He will be playing Xanthi away, a game that would be tough as they are playing like a mid table la liga side atm..

This season:
Xanthi vs PAO 4-2
Xanthi vs PAOK 4-2
