Olympiacos Piraeus

As you see, Vitor Pereira is kind of a joke in Portugal.
He's not the brightest or most eloquent man. You can expect some terrible english and stupid remarks.

He did a good job in Porto though. Got one of his two titles pratically handed to him by refs but his Porto team was solid as fuck. Best defensive display our league has seen in a long time.

The thing is... even Porto fans hated him because of the lack of quality in offensive play.

Although competent, if he does the same he did in Porto, he's the worst possible choice for a club with the mentality you've been describing. Your fans will hate him for the most boring, most Renhagel-est football to ever be played in Piraeus.

Leonardo Jardim compared to him is an adrenaline junkie.

He'll most likely get you the title though.

Sorry Bro... hasn't our fault

Problem is, Michel would have got the title too.

Jardim or 'Zardim' as he was known in Greece was hated by the Olympiakos fans because he was overly defensive. Even when we were winning 1-0 the whole stadium would be booing him because of his tactics.

Michel was the opposite, he would design a team to outscore the opponent.

The saddest thing is Michel actually wanted to stay in Greece. He actually loved the club. His family and home was here and now he has to move. Valverde on the other hand, always wanted to leave and the president and fans were always bribing him to stay. Michel is a super coach - far too good for Greece. He is also a charming man and a great representative for any club he goes to.

Olympiakos truly shot itself in the foot and I have lost lots of respect for Marinakis. This self sabotage is too difficult to forgive each january.

Faliro u will get a good coach, but a little bit "crazy" . U will speak the tru!

I am still in shock. You all know me on here, nothing shocks me. Some things make us laugh together etc. But this action by Marinakis is totally destructive and insulting.

You know what was the most the disgusting thing? How Greeks appologise for evil. When the rumours flared up Michel would be removed on Monday, most Greeks were in a state of shock. However, the some of media started making up lies about Michel in order to justify the thinking of Marinakis. That is truly disgusting.

Michel handled himself with huge charm and respect. He will always be loved here by the majority. I am sure there are many like me who are hurt by this news.

When I first joined, many Benfiquistas asked me - 'Will Olympiakos ever win a European cup?' I stated NO. Why? Because this shit happens every January since I have followed the club.

This episode sums up my personal relationship with Greece. Beautiful beautiful country. The people? I would like to chuck them all the sea and start again. The Greek race is a fractured, bitter remnant of its past glories..however, even in ancient Greece - they would assassinate and destroy their great leaders.

Estou muito chateado com essa noticia. E sinto muito por Michel.

From what I know from Portugal and those kind of figures, Marinakis is probably drunk with power.

From what we can see from here he has the power to do whatever the hell he wants so you can only expect him to be reasonable.

kneissl

The problem is that your league lacks competitivity , if you had 2 or 3 teams with REAL possibilities of being champions - besides olympiakos , i'm sure most of the games you're fans wouldn't booing the coach.

Oh Marinakis ia a Vieira (our "president") kind of guy.

Lycaon

Marinakis is a magnate. He probably has a lot more power and influence than Vieira does.

Vieira have a lot of power, believe me.

The league's lack of competitivity also allows Olympiakos to sack their coaches in January without worrying about it costing them domestic trophies.

Falliro....Kasami-Fiorentina rumous?

Bizarrely, the Michel debacle suits him maybe to stay as they were not friends and Michel left him on the bench far too much.

There is definite interest from Italy and the Fiorentina link has been heavily mentioned in the Greek press the last few days.

Kasami played the whole cup game today and seemed .. pensive... If this new Portuguese guy believes in Kasami I think he will stay.

Personally I think Kasami is easily one of the best players in Greece. Any club would be lucky to have him. He has everything.
