I think the guy (and the leftwing guy who compared Benfica TV to Fox News instead of CNN) over-intellectualised Benfica's recent demise. They spent what seemed an eternity describing all the big names Benfica has sold. It matters not. What matters is the president is not running the club for the fans. It is up to the fans to get rid of him. For whatever reason they didn't.. So..

There are strong evidences that, with the help of an agent, €2,5M paid in commissions were sent to his account and his son's, via offshores, to use on their enterprises. But we strongly believe that this money is only the beginning. There is an almost infinite number of negotiations in the past that "stink". Players with no relevance bought by 3/4M, players bought paying a value over their release clause and so on.

And what about negotiations involving Jorge Mendes? I'm sure that a lot of "strange" things happened there.

Besides this, it is now known also that he was trying to sell 25% of the SAD (don't know the name in english, but something like anonymous sport society) to an american business man, John Textor.

Also, they are now saying that they will count the physical votes of the past elections (10 months after), in another pathetic attempt at not having the assembly, which they are legally required to.

All while the "ministers of the Vieira's regime propaganda" keep spouting nonsensical bullshit like "we need to be grateful for what Vieira did for the club" and "we need to be united".

More specifically, Domingos Soares Oliveira, who is the guy in charge of the finances, signed the contracts now under investigation. As for the rest of the board (Rui Costa included) either they were connivent, or they did not know what was going on. Either way, they have to go.

Right now, the board is acting like Hitler in his last days. They're holding dear to their positions in the club, doing as much as they can to maintain things as they are. It is a waiting game now.

Absurd the board is carrying out an internal investigation.. marking their own homework as we say in the UK. Reminds me of when the WHO had the low IQ idea to get Daszak to investigate the Wuhan lab to see whether covid had emerged there - despite Daszak being the one funding the lab.. his investigation lasted 1 day and he simply said "nothing to see here.."
