Olympiacos Piraeus

HJDK

Oly had conceded 34 goals, scored only 3 and never managed to win in Engalnd. In a ridiculous amount of games. I think you all will remember this game, epic result. :)

HJDK

A draw in Piraeus against Arsenal is enough for Oly to reach the knockout stage, imo.

T1n0_SLB

They'll have two games against Dinamo Zagreb, two wins and it's done.

The victory was impressive. I am happy with the Europa Cup also as I think our squad does not have what it takes to get to a CL final.

What happens with Greeks is that we invent sporting complexes. For years Olympiacos had not even won away in the CL until that amazing night in Bremen in the 2007/2008 season. What happens is after something doesn't happen a stigma is created. The more bad results we had in England - the more certain players believed it would never happen.

Another example is coaches. Because of what Otto achieved for Greece, most of the EPO believe a German passport bearing football coach = success. We can clearly see certain important people at Olympiacos believe Portuguese coaches can work well in Greece. So Greeks are forever searching for the creation of a stereotype. A few polls a couple of years ago showed that Greeks were some of the most naturally racist people in Europe. This did not include hate crime but described a Greek people that believe certain country's populations have more value than others. Once someone foreign sets foot in Greece, people are immediately curious as to where that person is from and if there is an history between Greece and that country..  :confused:

Germans = good defensive players.
Brazilians = talented but lazy and easily distracted..
Portuguese = a little defensive and a little attacking flair.
Greeks = players with '''passion'''  :rir:
French = Greeks are a little confused by this race..
Swedes = Viking/nordic warriors.
Egyptians and Algerians = hotheads.
Africans = crazy but strong.

The list is endless. But it can be damaging. For example when Dudu got injured and barely played - rumours started to flare up about his motivation. If he was German - no such rumours would have been initiated.

But in general that type of things are true.

Huge win for Olympiacos yesterday and we did the same today, beating two of Europe's best clubs. This week history was made by our teams!
Congratulations, Faliro.

P.S. I'm very happy to see Marco Silva having success in Greece. Great coach!

Benfica did something historic today. Congratulations is in order from me.

CitaçãoLike for example the "curse" chasing Olympiakos in England. The 12 defeats in as many visits to the island was another good reason to "dope" the footballers and their sucking the mind that can make history!

The revelation made himself the Portuguese technician in a statement to "A 'Bola": "I knew for 12 defeats in as many games to England and do not hide that we spent a lot of time talking to the players, so as to give them an extra incentive.

We played against a great opponent, was a historic victory, but I had in the past triumphs they gave me titles. These victories, yes, living in history ".

Seems Silva had a serious chat with the players about complexes and how to overcome Arsenal.

Naa, hiring him and paying him a lot of money was premeditated. Olympiacos didn't find him washed up on a beach in Lesbos.

If paying Marco a huge salary is a mistake, what is to say about Jesus? :rir:
I believe it will pay off way better then Vitor Pereira anyway because as i told you earlier he was not that much good at coaching, his strong point was the fact that he new how to motivate his players so yeah, in a way it was enough for you to win your title
But like Benfica i believe Olympiacos deserves to go farther in champions league and conquer great results in the European matter and thats were marco will get things better, not only that but will give you guys a very interesting performance on the inside aswell :)
