Olympiacos Piraeus

I think the league is safe, you don't have any tough game until the end of season.

Raúl Caneda and Hamza Hamzaoğlu have also been mentioned.

For me Marcelino is the best of the bunch.

Remi Garde and Philippe Montanier now the favourites..

***BREAKING***

French both said no - now LEMONIS is favourite!!! Massive massive fan favourite. If he comes back - the whole of Piraeus will welcome him. However Olympiacos seem to be denying the rumour and have had to release a statement saying 'no Lemonis' as the fans were going crazy to get him back. He is a coach who is good enough to coach in portugal.

Lemonis said a few years ago Mitroglou was the best striker he ever worked with:

As a player:

***UPDATE***

Both French are still on the table and will give their answers tomorrow. This is Modesto and karembeu's work..

I really really dont want a French coach.

Everybody is good to work in Portugal or somewhere else if they have quality.

Not everybody in Greece has coaching quality. Only around 5% of Greek coaches have quality - that is the point.

What a saga!!

Remi Garde was given until 12pm to agree with Olympiacos yesterday. He refused. Then Olympiacos denied there was any theme with Lemonis officially - and said Garde has been given until 12 midnight to agree with Olympiacos! He didn't! We now have Lemonis officially announced. Very happy he is back. His first statement back:

Citação"I am very happy to be back in the Olympic team, more prepared and more experienced, to pursue our goal, which is of course winning the championship and the Cup. You all know that I am the Olympic soldier but now it is time for hard work, not words. We want our fans closer than ever, since we are alone against everyone and no one left over. The rest will say in court. "

Lemonis did the best run in Europe for Olympiacos in the past decade.

I hope he succeeds again.

Another title.. 44 in total now - 7th in a row.

We have started rebuilding immediately. It is expected a new coach will be signed soon and new players - better than our current crop will be signed immediately. In fact the first one was confirmed today. Left back Leonardo Koutris (Born in Greece to a Greek father and a Brazilian mother).

He is the guy in the stretcher here - one of perhaps the funniest things I have seen from greece:

But is that already official? Because today I saw something saying that Olympiacos could be punished thanks to the conflicts between their fans and AEK fans.

Spoiler

There were no AEK fans at the game. Away fans are banned amongst the big 4 in all games except the Cup final. What happened was even more bizarre. ELAS - the Greek riot police, went into the stadium after the game and started beating everyone up. Olympiacos claimed it was reminiscent of the Junta.  PAOK think there might be an angle to take points away from Olympiacos for what happened.. I don't see how - but the aek/paok and pao media are pushing the story every day in the hope Olympiacos gets points deducted.

Here is the article:

CitaçãoOLYMPIACOS COULD FACE SIX POINT DEDUCTION

The Hellenic Football Federation's (EPO) Disciplinary Committee has officially called Olympiacos to a hearing regarding the widespread episodes that took place after the match against AEK in the Greek Cup semi-finals. If found guilty for the accusations, Olympiacos could face a SIX point deduction to be served in this year's Superleague standings.

EPO's Disciplinary Committee has appealed against Olympiacos under Article 29, concerning violence against officials, for the episodes against AEK in the Greek Cup semi-finals. The match observer stated in his official match report that during half time, the assistant observer was verbally attacked by members of Olympiacos and was pushed away during the incident. In addition, after the conclusion of the game the referees were also verbally attacked and needed a police escort to the locker rooms..

However, the report states only a few things of what actually happened and because of this, the observer has also been called to a hearing from EPO's Disciplinary Committee.

Olympiacos' hearing and accusations are of great significance, because if found guilty they could be deducted six points from this year's Superleague standings. This would turn the tables in the title race and put PAOK top of the table with 55 points (hold the head-to-head advantage over Olympiacos).

As a result, PAOK have requested to be present at Olympiacos' hearing which will start on Thursday at 4:00 PM local time. PAOK officials claim that they made their request within the time limit, so as a team with legal interest from the outcome of the accusations, they have every legal right to be present.

Sources mention that PAOK will ask to increase the number of witnesses for the case. However, sources from Olympiacos state that the club is not worried about the 6 point deduction as episodes of greater extent and significance have taken place in the past without this penalty being enforced.

Along with the possible deduction, Olympiacos could be handed a six-digit financial fine and a two match penalty without home fans. Relegation is also stated in the law, however this is reserved only for extreme cases.
