Miguel Vítor publicou esta sexta-feira um comunicado no seu site oficial no qual se despede do Benfica (vai jogar nos gregos do PAOK) e explica por que razão «era tempo de mudar».

O defesa central critica Jorge Jesus pelas poucas oportunidades que lhe concedeu.

Comunicado de Miguel Vítor:

«Amigos, tal como é público, serei jogador do PAOK, da Grécia, nos próximos três anos. Ficam para trás 13 anos ligados ao Benfica, clube pelo qual terei sempre um enorme respeito e carinho.

Mas era tempo de mudar. Com a continuidade do actual treinador, eu sabia que o meu espaço seria reduzido ou quase nulo. Sempre respeitei as opções de quem dirigia a equipa, mesmo que nem sempre concordasse, porque acredito no meu valor e sei que podia ter recebido outras oportunidades.

Porque não gosto de estar acomodado, decidi dar outro rumo à minha carreira. Agora é hora de pensar no futuro e voltar ao que mais gosto de fazer: jogar e tentar ganhar pelo clube que represento.

Ao Benfica, instituição que me orgulho de ter representado e que está e estará acima de qualquer individualidade, só posso desejar as maiores felicidades.»
