Well, looks like this match is over. AEK were the better team over the two legs and probably deserved to go through.

AEK are very well organized and have some very interesting players. They are too good to be in the second division but need some important signings if they wanna challenge for the title next season.

Now Olympiakos have a huge chance to win the double again  O0

I agree about AEK being better over the two legs. Tiger is far richer than Marinakis - but also tighter with money. He built the team very very cheap simply to win the second division South League easily. That is mathmatically done and they will be in the Super Leage again in the summer. However, if he wants to go further and get a top 3 finish in the Super League, he will need some new CBs, a new goalkeeper and another striker.

BTW the save by Roberto today saved us.

Also Dellas - although a stellar defender in his day, he is a pretty weak coach.

Some AEK fans are already saying VP provoked the situation by running towards the fans... I am not sure where he is supposed to run in a stadium containing 65,000 AEK fans only.

As soon as Mantalos went off, AEK crumbled. Dellas was foolish imo to take off Platellas and bring on the Brazilian D'accol.

Dossevi is just useless.

The game was called off and I think AEK will be in trouble for these guys storming the pitch. I saw one of the hooligans throw something and it hit perhaps Dominguez?

The game for me was extremely low on quality. You could tell AEK were not used to playing infront of so many of their own fans in such a big occasion.

For those who like under dogs, Iraklis are still in the competition.
Mantalos and Platellas are really good players.

They are and did you see their wages I posted in the previous page? Any Portuguese team could easily snatch these two for nothing.
Yeah,I saw it. I was actually surprised they were so low, given that AEK are in the second division and I thought players like this would ask for more to play there.

Anyway, currently not many portuguese teams could afford that kind of salary

Roberto was quick to come off his line and closed the angles very well. At things like that he was always good. The problem when he was here were crosses into the box when he never looked assured. Didn't start well, lost confidence and it was a nightmare, for him and for us.

Btw,good combination between Platellas and Mantalos. The first with a great ball and the second with a very good movement, just lacking the finishing touch.

They need some class players. They have some average ones, who will do the job,but they need more quality if they wanna compete at top level. Today I didn't like Aravidis

Toribas

Coaches who provoques supporters, presidents that beat each other... The problems in greek football are not only about the fanatism of the supporters.

Platellas was very tame today compared to how he is usually is, but perhaps it was the occasion. Even having said that, you could see the guy's quality. There are 4-5 players like him in Greece, all very small, but all with excellent dribbling ability, Ninis, Fetfa, Gianniotas etc Universally Greek fans detest these type of players.  :2funny:

There is talk now of -5 for AEK. They are 12 points clear at the top of the South League so I doubt that will damage them.
Expect next season to see AEK flooded with south americans Benfiquista

I agree fully. Greece reminds me a lot of Brazil in that we are an extremely balanced society.

Those at the top of society are just as violent, badly educated, corrupt and anarchic as those at the bottom.   O0

Greece is the wall to the east... from the Persians, to the Mongols to the Ottomans.. Greece is the last line of defence for Europe and as a result, anarchy is in the blood. Many times Greeks have had to fight for their existence.. so therefore attempting to kill a footballer in front of cameras or a rival Super Liga owner in front of 30 witnesses is not much of a big deal..  ;D
