A curiosity?
When you hear talk in Italian, understand (more or less) what is being said?
As for me, when I hear talk in Portuguese only understand 25/30% of what is being said.
While, when I listen to Spanish, I understand the 60/65% of what is being said.
It happens to you too?

yeah, it happens the same to us 
spanish it's much easier for us to understand than Italian... guess it's like a language in between if it happens the same to you hahah
but i'd say we (portuguese) in general understand a good 70/80% of what they say (it helps if they don't speak too fast). I understand a good 95% but maybe that's because I used to go to Spain a lot, so not sure if most also understand that much.

yeah, same here
very often the most loved and successful clubs in their countries are also the most hated by others of the same country that support other clubs

but here Porto is also hated a lot by neutrals and some other club fans for the reasons you already know... they've been caught cheating many times and the people that likes football despises what they do.

Not really.
That tv problem only happens with Benfica, Porto and Sporting.

The issue with every other club is way more simple: they don't have supporters.

We are a small country.
Benfica and Sporting became powerhouses in the beggining of the 20th century, with nothing else going on, and with the help of cycling teams and european sucesses they become national clubs. Benfica, being more sucessful and more relatable to the masses, became much more impressive than Sporting. The last UEFA study said that 47% of the portuguese population are Benfica fans.
FC Porto is growing in the last decades, they already dominate their city and have a lot of fans on the Great Porto area that has 3 500 000 million people, more than 30% of the country.

So as you can see, there's not much room for the local clubs.

It's kind of sad but most small teams in our League have attendaces between 1000 - 3000 people and have absolutely no power whatsoever. Whether it is Olhanense or Nacional or Arouca, no one cares about our teams. They kind of only exist to play against the big clubs.

That's the worst thing about our league.

According to Censos 2011, Great Porto has officially 1 287 276 people.
Not even Great Lisbon has 3,5 Million.
According to Uefa, 47% of all Portuguese support Benfica. 1% more than on the last exhaustive study about this subject, wich was released in the 90's... We are growing even more.

Who do you agree with the coach of Juventus?

If he's talking about fans, yes. We're the most supported club in Portugal.

If he's talking about titles, yes. We won more leagues than our rivals.

If he's talking about the way the club won them, no. We play fairly, and win fairly.  I'm sorry, my friend...nothing against you personally, but your club doesn't have, how to say...credibility. Even Conte's "everybody is against us" speech is similar to the one used by Porto.



It's like spanish journalist from Marca, Santiago Segurola, says:

My friend, the person who said this, is a respected jornalist in Spain (not Portugal or Italy)...and that I know, doesn't support, nor is affiliated with Benfica or your italian rivals.

It depends on the accent. Sometimes I understand most of it(70% and above) without much trouble, and other times I have trouble understanding most of it(20% at best). As for written Italian, my understanding of it is between 50 and 70%

As far as Spanish goes, once again it depends on the accent. Spaniards speak kinda fast so I guess I understand about 70% of what they say. Written? 90%.
