My two cents on the comments by our Paok friend:

- atmosphere - I think that even in a church people sing more. I am very sorry for the young supporters that never had the chance to experience the real hell in the old stadium and think that the best support in this one was fantastic. It was not.

- Roy Win, also known as Rui Vitória in some circles. He has shown all his tricks now. He has nothing more to show, but in good days the team overcomes those limitations. Yesterday could have been one of those days, but we didn't score when we had a change.
Even in the past, I think Jonas  made the difference where the coach did not. And guess what, when he got out of the team, shit surfaced again.
But hey, I am with the guys that like to have a gentleman in the bench and that really puts the kids playing. Too bad he is bad in all other aspects.

Yeah, our atmosphere sucks.
The Estádio da Luz can still be one of the best atmospheres in Europe but it's only in specific moments of huge emotional weight when passion trumps confort.

Regarding attendances, we are actually quite good. We average 50k+ per match in a full season, which ranks top 20 in Europe.

vs PAOK it was a middle of the week match, with extortionate prices, against a team that doesn't motivate the casual supporter to go and a few days before a Benfica vs Sporting with even worse ticket prices.

Our board unfortunately is 100% profit-oriented regarding ticket prices, not attendance-oriented, which causes situations like this one. August in their minds is the month to milk the portuguese immigrants that came back home for the summer holidays.

I hope we silence them

By the way, I respect PAOK a lot and the Toumba Stadium. If it wasn't against Benfica, I would be supporting them to get into the group stage...

But... I think it's 50/50 now, because they have a huge boost.... We have RV and they have an incredible atmosphere

Anyone from the forum going to the game?

Was that the Stadium of the great Benfica?  It seemed more like my church on sunday morning.  Next week in Toumpa we'll show everyone how you support your team.

They seem quiet to me!

TVI channel has turned off the stadium atmosphere sound or Greeks are very silent?

To be honest their mentality is great, they never stop cheering and chanting.

X-ray

On average how many defects PAOK had per year?

Yup, they have a good environment. I think it used to be stronger in the past, just like here. It hurts to admit, but our stadium is far cry from what it used to be. It does feel like a church, sometimes. Especially on overpriced Champions League games.

Good riddance.

And that was the dreaded atmosphere everyone talked about? Childsplay in comparison to what we face in Dragão every year.

Good luck in the Europa League.

Because AEK are now the only Greek team in the CL - they will now get PAOK's money - €2.5 million.

Interesting game. As I predicted - Benfica were too strong for them. PAOK's defence was exposed so badly - I think it could actually effect their season. Their older players (Canas, Varela, Matos, Crespo) - looked old tonight. PAOK looked very good going forward - but at the back - weak and exposed. Thought the ref was very good too. 2nd pen is the type of stuff they do in Greece every game.

Concerning their fans - they are not so tough when they can't throw till rolls at coaches and fire flare guns at players. In Europe they are scared to do that because in Europe basic law and order exists. The last i heard about that convicted criminal who threw the till roll at our manager is that he couldn't attend court.. again.. this time because he apparently had diarrhoea.. and the Thessaloniki corrupt judge bought it.. :clap1:
