a velha arrogância inglesa....

Rafa Benitez believes experience key for Chelsea against Benfica
The former Liverpool boss travelled to Estadio da Luz with Liverpool in 2010, and thinks Chelsea will be happy with their draw but that they must be wary of Benfica's stars

e Blues travel to Lisbon for the first-leg on March 27, wary that Jorge Jesus' side dumped Manchester United out at the group stage with a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford in November, and face the prospect of champions Barcelona or seven-time winners AC Milan in the semi-final.

Benitez, who has recently been touted as a permanent replacement to the sacked Andre Villas-Boas, believes Chelsea should be wary of Benfica's talent but thinks they could win.

When asked if he thought it was a good draw for Chelsea, he told Sky Sports News: "I think so. Obviously everyone was expecting APOEL as the best team to play against but I think it will be difficult because Benfica have some good players.

"They have [Pablo] Aimar, who was my player at Valencia, they have players with talent; Javi Garcia, a strong midfielder, [Nicolas] Gaitan, [Axel] Witsel and [Oscar] Cardozo. They're a good team but I think [Chelsea] can do well."

The Spaniard guided Liverpool to a Europa League quarter-final win over Benfica in 2010 after losing 2-1 in the first-leg at Estadio da Luz, and he feels Chelsea are strong enough to cope with the atmosphere in Lisbon.

"It's amazing. The atmosphere is good at the beginning and the fans are on top of the team," he added.

"I don't think it will be too difficult for the Chelsea players, with the experience they have, but it's a great atmosphere and you will see it's a massive stadium and the people are enjoying their football."

The former Valencia boss also mentioned that he can see Barcelona losing their Champions League crown this season.

"Barcelona have a lot of confidence in themselves. If they have players fit, they can beat anyone," he said.

"AC Milan will allow them to play football so that is an important thing for them. Other teams, maybe Marseille, are tactically better organised or more physical.

"Milan are quite strong but they can play football and Barcelona will enjoy this."
