Olympiacos Piraeus

Selling Weiss was tragic, but I think he wanted to go, he was having huge fights with Michel and still tweets insults at him.. Mitroglou was a sign the club doesn't care about the CL or Europe..

I don't think Olympiakos will be able to do anything until there is proper competition in Greece. We are in a unique position where there should be 4 big clubs in our small country and that would be excellent. However PAO did not have enough money to stay in the league last year and we voted to keep them in.. PAOK are rebuilding and AEK are in the second division.

Doesn't help that Aris just got relegated and Larissa is also in the second division..

Without proper domestic competition, we simply are not hardened enough to put away teams like Levante when it matters.

I remember Thrylos doing well in Europe back with Bajevic. It's too bad those days are gone now.

Nothing really to report. Seems the weather must be nice in Greece because the journalists have all disappeared. Probably taking their holidays early as the World Cup will disrupt their main holiday...  :crazy2:

Seems the EPO did make an attempt for Bielsa but could not convince him? Who knows?...

Olympiakos trying to make Campbell theirs and turn the loan permanent...

Saturday is the Cup final, PAOK vs PAO. Armies of PAOK fans are probably going to try and trash Athens as the game is at the OAKA. The police are already attempting counter measures.

The playoffs to reorder 2-5 positions (stupid system) begin next week..

Quiet as a cemetery in Greece - bit of news, everyone very quiet.

Godescalco

When will that stupid playoff system end?

May 17...

What amazes me is everyone seemed to agree the all-star game (Greeks vs best foreign players in Greece) was ridiculous and it was stopped two years ago. Yet everyone keeps quiet about this ultra shit play off system that wastes everyone's time...

Festivus

An all-star game like in the American sports leagues? First time I hear of a game of that sort in Europe.

Faliro!
Did you knew that Filip Djuricic played for your team on Youth systems?
I only found out that today

Wow, I had no idea. Just researched it. He spent a year with our youth team. We seem to go through quite a few serbs in our youth and senior team.

We picked up some good teen serbs last season - they were all selected by our technical director Darko Kovacevic. We loaned them because there was no room. Feisja was probably the best, however Aleksander Katai who went on loan this season to Platanias would probably do well in our first team, Saša Zdjelar (DM) who we loaned back to Beograd would probably be good enough for Benfica to take and make something very special.

I am not sure of the american model and what in involves, but here it was basically the best greek players voted by the fans vs the best foreign players voted by the fans in the super league at the end of the season. It started well and everyone was positive. The last one I think was in 2010 and took place in an empty stadium with just a few 1000 fans.

After the game, Katsouranis and others stated it is the biggest waste of time and not one player wanted to be there and risk injury. The first few all star games were good because basically it was a south american team vs the greek national team and was good to watch. I would always support the foreign 11 because I have not liked watching the greek nt since 2005.

Incidentally, the allstar game of Greek basketball was far more popular and crazy. There would also be a slam dunk competition within the game and things like that..

These playoffs are way too stupid, in Belgium it's even worse.

Faliro

Just a ridiculous system.

Cup final live (need to put a few euro in the account to watch unlimited until you withdraw the euros):
