Greetings from Liverpool FC good luck this season...

GloriosoLFC

Just thought id pop in and see our benfica brothers, a few things have changed since my last visit..you now see to be struggling in your league, i saw a bit of the game at the weekend and you just didnt seem to have a cutting edge, hope somehow it turns around but it looks like Porto's title again!

Hopefully this time tomorrow, it will be about to witness one of the best comebacks in european cup history..we are already out in alot of people eyes so we have nothing to lose and if we do it, it will be amazing. Would have prefered a return to Sunny Oporto though.

In the league, we all believe its possible but yet know we have to rely of the manc cunts slipping up a couple of times and us being 100%, but anything can happen..they are not playing well but getting results, so its very annoying but we just have to believe and not get overaly excited too early...although the dream is happening every night for me of the last game of the season!

I here a few of you are supporting the horrible vermin against Porto, but i understand why...its a battle of the two most corrupt teams in europe, lets just hope for a mass brawl or a bomb or something!

I also noticed to lack of attendance at your games recently at the luz, why is this?

Anyway Benfiquista keep the faith YNWA!  :slb2:

What a matche!!! Superb football, not for the weak of heart.

very, very sad for all my scouse buddies but on the other hand, very glad to see a superb display of football by both sides. It was magical.  :bow2: :bow2: :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:

Hope you don't mind, but tomorrow i am going to root for Manure Utd.

YNWA FTW  :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal:

Tell you what mate, I don't feel nearly as bad as I expected to feel. I'm so proud of the effort we put in. The players and supporters were brilliant... When I saw that Gerrard wasn't playing my heart sank but the other lads really gave everything they could.

Seeing Chelsea booing their team off at half time, their fucking awful plastic flags that the club have to give them for free because they can't make their own, and Droga spending the whole evening rolling on the floor.... I'd rather lose with pride than see Liverpool like that!!

Great, great game of football tho... We really went for it, and chelsea did very well to hold on because a lot of teams would have collapsed. Credit to hiddink for that.

Anyway.. I am hoping Barcelona go on to win the cup, because I believe they deserve it the most. We can focus on the league now with our heads up high

Bakero

You can be really proud of your team! Any other team without the personality of yours, would have been there just going around with no hopes, but the players went for it...and you almost made it!

But credit for Chelsea, they did their part also. They improved a lot since Hiddink is there (imo, the most underrated manager in europe. Has he ever done a bad job at any club/national team!?).

Anyway, i hope Barça trash Chelsea, because i also don't like them one bit. They're the complete opposite of clubs like Benfica and Liverpool. They don't have history, don't have a legend behind their name, don't have traditions...what they do have is a lot of, as you said Senhor_Beef, plastic flags (oh and money, of course). But not even 30.000 plastic flags come close to the site of a Kop with real flags, real scarves, and real fans.

Ps: GloriosoLFC, there has been few people at Benfica games, because everyone is so depressed at the way this season went again. We had high hopes and just hurts too much to realize we're gonna end up in 3º place again (maybe 2º, but i have my doubts). Even so, 30.000 fans at a game against Academica, played at night, with cold, with expensive tickets, with the team playing so badly...i don't think that's so bad.

Jorge.P_

You're fucking brilliant...  :bow2:

You must be proud... great performance

Keep strong on the league...

YNWA  :bandeiraslb2:

Ps: Benfica? Well... another desapointing year. 30 000 fans is not so bad man... with decent football and convincing displays... it would be always around 50 000, at least... believe me. Change we need!

Joga Bonito

What an amazing match.

I shouted at every Liverpool goal. Got depressed at every chelsea goal. Now there's just one way for this... support the Cules !

Liverpool is a legend, a built history. Chelsea buys its history. That's the difference!

I agree with that mate (including the bit re: Hiddink - I am very relieved that he is not staying at Chelsea because he is almost  impossible to replace - a great manager)

Will also be supporting Barça now... I don't know if you guys had the same experience in 2006 but when we played them in 2006, their fans that came to Anfield were similar to the BEnfiquistas - very friendly, no trouble, and we could all drink and sing together! Plus their football is just...  this year

Anyway.. with regards to Benfica.. I am sad that since February the season hasn't been going so well... I hope for a strong finish and improvments next year!!

Great display yesterday, only a club like Liverpool could do such thing. I really admire your club.  ;)

Benfica used to be like that until early 90´s, unfortunatelly we became what everyone can see, a shitty team. I still have hope we become what we used to be in the past.  :)

I agree. You'll be back.. these things go in cycles... At the moment the English teams are particulaly strong but I doubt it will last.. it never does.

Liverpool were awful in Europe for the whole of the 90s.. We used to get knocked out within a couple of rounds... I remember watching us losing to Brondy IF and Strasbourg in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup.. oh and our glorious 1-0 victory against Spartak Vladikavkaz in 1995... It was only a combination of Rafa and English football getting richer that has taken us to the top again I think... The money will dry up eventually tho, and if not, Platini will find a way to fuck us up... Then there will be other teams stepping back up..  :slb2:

Thats it man...

Not so long ago we used to see only Italian teams and some Spanish ones in the crucial fase of the Champions League... Today, at least 2 English teams are always in the semis...

It's just like that  :)

But Real Madrid, Bayern, Juventus, Milan, Inter and some others will show up again... hoppefully with us  :flagglorioso:

Great game i was in the Gym and while i workout i was seeing the game too and everybody was pulling for Liverpool!

But i  think Rafa didn't want to win the game...
