You were lethal. We usually need 2 or 3 chances to score a goal, i don't know... sometimes more (like in the first leg against you...), sometimes less. You did 4 in 4/5!

Cheers mate! And you're right, I was looking at the statistics today; you guys had much more shots and more possession (Really unusual for us at Anfield). Last night we took our chances and won, but like you say, that cardozo free kick was going in and  if it had, everything would look very different today.  Small details that aren't reflected in the final score.

Yesterday was perfect for you... but that's football. It was a deserved win, no doubt...

If you play like that for the Premier League you'll do well, for sure...


I'm still kinda a fucked... it was the perfect time for us to win something in Europe. We have 2 Champs and 1 Latin Cup. That's all. This club needs more... we have 5 Champs and 1 UEFA lost. Plus another Latin Cup final. Even the Intercontinental Cups were lost!

Lost finals? yes, but being 5 times european vice-champions(runners up)-Silver medal, 1 time uefa cup vice-champion-Silver medal, 2 times intercontinental/toyota cup(FIFA dont recognize this competition as an official competition) vice-champions-Silver medal, 1 time Latin vice-champion- Silver medal and 1 time Latin 3st-Bronze medal its not a loser club, thouse team medals are minor titles, but are titles too, its better being the 2nd or the 3st then being 4ht or bellow!
And you forget 2 officcial trophies(titles) the Iberian cup and the sub-20 Blue Stars FIFA Youth Cup(the only portuguese club with an FIFA international title!) more 1 time vice-champion-Silver medal and 2 times 3st -Bronze medal.

We managed to get the right results at the right time.  I grew up listening to my dad and uncle telling me about "the good old days" almost every week... for young Benfica fans it must be frustrating in the same way when it comes to europe, but this team is on the way up. Dude I have in my lifetime witnessed live Benfica loose 3 !! european cups two CL and one UEFA!! BUT I have incredible faith that we are close or on the start to something huge!! it will happen again

Hello mate! I haven't been on here for a while, it's been really really bad months and it has been hard to talk about football. Today was a big day for us.. I still don't expect us to finish any higher than 8th or 9th but it's a big morale boost for everyone at the club, we are all united for the first time in a while. Kenny will hopefully keep things stready until the summer, and then we will see which manager the new owners bring in..


How do you fell about Benfica this year lads? Was speaking to a Benfiquista recently who said he thought jesus should be fired !? seemed a bit harsh, surely he deserves more time?

Last year we HAD to win the EUROPA LEAGUE but everyone thought that I was crazy, that it was a minor cup etc...

This year we just HAD to win the league in order to give the final blow in Porto's dominance over the portugues football, but I guess it's all back to normal.
