So perhaps either he forgot about the the yellow, or didn't want to play Boavista. Maybe he feels an injury coming on? Weird one.

Boavista vs Benfica
Benfica vs Braga
Académica vs Benfica
Benfica vs Vitória Setubal
Rio Ave vs Benfica
Benfica vs Vitória Guimarães
Maritimo vs Benfica
Benfica vs Nacional

Difficult games, it was obviously to clean the cards :)

It certanly looks like that. It`s the first game he takes the jersey off after scoring a goal and it was the 4-0 at the time. No need to get that emocional.

He`s been playing a lot and in games like against Sporting and Zenit, with a lot of workrate needed and leaving him exhausted.

And after this game, is the national team friendly matches. I assume he is going to play on those Greek games or is it the oportunity to give chances to other players to prove their worth?

If he plays in Greek national team, this is the oportunity to rest for a week before the decisive final part of the season.

Braga is in theory, the most difficult game until the end of the season and now he can play in that game and probably will play until the end of the season without any more suspensions through yellow cards.

One more goal  :metal:

What game is he hoping to miss?

Greek NT plays soon and he is probably going get used a lot.
You already answered. So there`s that. A week off at this stage of the season is priceless and mutch needed for the final games.

The guy doesn`t avoid physical contact. On the contrary. And he`s been playing a lot in the last few months.

Probably Skibbe will summon younger players inasmuch as Greece will not be present at Euro 2016. In this moment it's more important to prepare a competitive national team for the World Cup 2018. But Faliro will know better for sure.

That would be progressive ^^. However Greece is not. Vyntra got called up again, that says it all. Expect many players playing who don't want to be there.. Manolas, Mitroglou, Samaris, Kyriakos Paps, Sokratis, etc. Expect players who are young and MVPs in Greece to not even get squad call ups - Kourbelis, Bakasetas, etc..

Mitroglou will def be made to play..  :bah2:

The few Greeks who are actually worth money don't want to play friendlies. Often they fake injuries to get out of the games. EPO usually gets Greek doctors to view their injuries to see if they are faking.

Festivus

It seems to me that Greek players in general aren't very professional.

Faliro

You are only realising this now?  ::)

I'm not really up to date with Greek football. My info comes all from you and other members on this forum.

Katsoranis was quite irregular, though.

Faliro

Irregular like how?  ;D

I know he used to smoke with Santos after training..

What? When did that took place?

Faliro

Was common knowledge. Katsouranis was a smoker in his 20s and he bonded with Santos smoking after training sessions. There were a couple of Greek players who were smokers at the time. They would not do it in front of the cameras obviously.. but it was known.

Fábio Coentrão was caught smoking in his own house by paparazzi during his time at Real Madrid.

It was problematic at the time and Real Madrid fans gave him a hard time after that incident.

We all know some players still do it but the awkward and unusual here is the the fact that the manager is smoking with a player.  ;D
