Fernando Santos has a reputation here to be a "Loser", where he can make his team play well, but at the end of the competitions, the team lacks in surpass the pressure existed in that stage of the competition they're inserted and loose the competitions they are involved.

I'm not sure if he's corrupted, but he lacks of "backbone" and maybe be a bit influenced to use determined players.

It's funny you say about Karagounis and Katsouranis, since they are players that Fernando Santos coached in his year and 4 month stint here

Paulo Machado is a good player and should be in the National squad instead of Rúben Micael. When I watch Olympiakos' games he is always playing good with a lot of consistency.
Rúben Micael is a poor midfielder and should be removed from Portugal's squad because there are players like Paulo Machado, Manuel Fernandes or Tiago (the last one is an incredibly good player, Besiktas' commander) that are playing in good teams in good leagues that are fighting for titles (for example, Braga (Rúben Micael's team are the 12th of the Liga ZON Sagres (Portuguese League) and they are a small club with their 15 minutes of fame)....

But.... I would not like to have Paulo Machado in the Benfica squad because he is a Porto fan, he was part of the Super Dragões (Porto's group of supporters) and he hates Benfica.

Paulo's from one the poorest and more dangerous (nothing really serious though) areas in Oporto.
