It was too bad.

Roberto blew it but you always risk that by having him on goal. Terrible keeper. It was a shame to be knocked out again so early in the EL but clearly this Olympiacos' squad is a galaxy away in terms of quality from the ones that had Rivaldo, Giovanni, Alexandris, Giannakopoulos, Georgatos and Karembeu or even more recently with Galletti, Belluschi, Kovacevic and Torisidis, just to name a few.

Agree with this.

Trapattoni

Sorry to hear that you were knocked out for Roberto
I still remember having that guy at Benfica and i think that speaking for the most part of our fans he was by far our worst nightmare that we had to face in our goal
When i criticized him heavily due to his poor performances i was ridiculized by many people saying that i was being impartial only because i was desapointed that we left Quim (previous goalkeper that i admired)
Matter of fact is that at least at some point the same people came into the conclusion that i was right, that the guy that they thought that was the right man wasnt anywere near the expectations we had on him
Roberto might be good on defending with his legs (strongest asset) but his main issue is that when it comes to centers and crosses he is easily overtaken
Unfortunately he was one of the biggest reasons of our failure in 2010/2011

Roberto has about 4-8 exceptionally good games, then does something ridiculous. I mean rule one on crosses, if you come out - get a hand on it. He comes out and is no where near the ball.

However I cant only pin the blame on him. Our attack is poor. Needs a revamp in the summer. However, this loss cost the Greek league, Champion's League will now be more difficult because of co-efficients.

Yeah, thing with Roberto is that he is mainly inconsistent, obviously that it is not fair to put all the responsibility in one element alone but in my opinion having a inconsistent keeper can obviously limit the team in a number of different ways and that is were i start feeling sorry for you guys
I still think that Olympiacos has been known to have very good teams on ta number of last years and i think that you will somehow overcome this issue
Ah yeah and another note, if crosses and centers were not permitted in football i believe Roberto would be the best goalkepeer in the world or one of
Still remember when we last faced you guys you were smart enough to realize that you had to block all the crosses coming from Benfica wingers in order to win the match ;D

One of them was against Benfica in Champions League  :disgust:

The annoying thing is that Roberto seems a nice guy. You want him to succeed, but this continual nonsense has no cure. I have known many keepers with this problem. I call them Vampires (afraid of crosses). One was Eleftheropoulos who is now a coach. I got his autograph and some other players when I met them at Athens airport. Eleftheropoulos was an exceptionally talented shot stopper, but the minute he actually had to use his brain.. it was a disaster.

I can't see Roberto going anywhere, but like with Marco, he lost a bit a respect yesterday from certain fans probably. Roberto made mistakes in both legs as did Marco.

The Olympiacos media is unusually quiet now. Something might be up. Shock - maybe some plans, who knows.

Trapattoni

Yes he might do some mistakes and things might not always go as planned but i hope you guys realize the fact that you have an amazing coach in front of your team
Only wish that Marco was with us right now, such a shame that Vieira choose Vitória instead
Hope that one day the man has a chance with us, it would only do him justice

Marco is young. Still has much to learn. It's normal made mistakes. This is his first experience abroad.
I believe that in the next 10 years he will be one of the best coaches in the world.

Hope Marco goes to Benfica. Sorry Faliro ;D

Olympiacos changes manager like people change underwear. What irritated me a lot was how Michel was disposed of. I even had conflict with Other Olympiacos fans over this. For example when Olympiacos beat Arsenal I had a friend texting me, 'you still miss Michel?' He did that every European game Marco won..

I have already gone into it in great detail on here, but I still believe Michel should have not been replaced.

Trapattoni

Before Benfica having Jesus we had quite the same issue
Good thing with you guys is that Olympiacos has been winning despite every single change of manager that has been happening, unfortunately we cannot say the same in our case

You know, in the history of Greece, no losing team has ever lost because they were shitter, its always because the game was fixed.  :tomates:

Olympiacos as an entity suffers because the teams around it are worse than Estoril - including the so called 'giants.' I just hope Tiger opens his tight pockets in the summer - AEK need a rebuild for Europe. Olympiacos will start in the 3rd Qualification round of the CL next season - will be tough. AEK will be up against a Prem or Spanish 4th finishing team also in the 3rd round - so they are straight to  Europa also most probably. Greek teams are roughly 70% as good as Belgian sides, in summer that falls to 50%.
