Arghhh so frustrating.. I had to take an earlier flight, at 19.15 on Sunday.. just as the game was starting.. so I missed it. So dissapointed, as it would have been a great game. I bet it was like a party to be there.
I flew back to lisboa and drove past the Catedral tho.. beautiful.
I will just have to see a game in Lisboa when I have a chance one weekend soon.

Lucky man! It was my first time in the island and I think it's beautiful. I will try to make some Poncha this weekend but I think I need to go back to Pub Nr 2 again to check the flavour... as well as go into a shop and ask to buy a caralinho (!!!!?)

Well, the "caralhinho" you mentioned litterally means "little dick" (not in an offensive way though) but it's just a small wooden stick used to stir the poncha. Obviously you don't really need it to make the poncha, it's just a cultural addition.

What you do need is some sugarcane aguardiente (distilled beverage between 29 and 45 percent alcohol) natural orange and lemon juice, lots of sugar and some honey if you'd like.

I saw Liverpool game and i was almost sure you're gonna score another late goal to give you the win, but unfortunately, it didn't happen  .

But anyway, Liverpool and Benfica are still top of the league and that's the most important!

Saw your game.. I really thought you deserved the win. Penalities is often a bit unfair.. nevermind tho.. there is a good side. Whilst FCP are very likely to win the cup (  ) I think it will be good that BEnfica can concentrate 100% on the league.

Although i am a Manchester United fan, this year Liverpool is playing like hell, i really like their way of play, and all weekends and i am betting both on them as on Man United to win their games. If this will not be the year for Liverpool i don't know when will it be. Unfortunately both of them draw their matches but i really thought that after Gerard's 2 goals, Liverpool would score many more. It didn't happen.

So we both go into Xmas top of the league, both after drawing! Benfica is top at Xmas for the first time in 15 years in and for Liverpool, it's 12 years.

This season the "hit song" is one that i have seen Liverpool fans sing as well (you go something like oh campione, the one and only...):

But i was thinking, more then new songs, there is something that we portuguese do, that i haven't seen in any other country, and i i think it's amazing. Is that bouncing chanting from one stand to another.

I searched on youtube, but only found one example: at our rivals Sporting stadium, with 10.000 of our fans singing Benfica from one point of the stand to another:

At our stadium we do it from the stand behind the goal to another. Imagine the kop (and only the kop) singing "Liverpoool" and the other stand (i don't know the name), responding with the same "Liverpoool". It makes an unbelievable sound to hear so loud and clear 5.000 or 10.000 people singing, where all the others are quiet.

Ps: Congratulations on your demolishion of Newcastle! What a performance!!
